So, you’ve just upgraded your outdoor kitchen with the newest (and dare we say best) accessory – a GrowlerWerks uKeg pressurised growler.

What next?

It’s time to fill it up with your favourite craft beer.

While there are a few breweries in Perth’s northern corridor that offer growler refills, why not stop in at your favourite Perth bottle shop on your way home. Visiting a bottle shop which has its own growler refill station will give you a selection of the freshest beers from a wide range of local and international breweries.

To help you find a growler refill station close by to one of The Outdoor Chefs locations in Joondalup and Osborne Page, we’ve created an interactive map with some of our recommended locations.

Common Beer Growler Questions

How big is a growler of beer?

A growler of beer usually refers to a 64oz (1.89 litres) container used to transport draft beer from your favourite bottle shop or brewery to consume at a later date.

How long does growler beer last?

It’s recommended that you consume your growler beer within 36 hours of bottling. This will give you the best-tasting beer with lowest chances of reduced carbonation.

Recently, more advanced pressurised growlers have hit the market, such as the GrowlerWerks uKeg growler sold at The Outdoor Chef. These growlers use carbon dioxide canisters to keep your draft beer fresher for longer.

Pressurised growlers can keep your beer fresh for up to a few weeks.

How do I clean a growler bottle?

Growlers are very simple to clean and reuse.

If possible, try to clean your growler immediately after use to reduce the chance of bacteria build up. Cleaning immediately after use reduces the need for soap. All you’ll need to do is fill, swirl and empty with hot water 3 to 4 times. Then, leave the beer growler to air dry, preferably upside down so the water can drip out.
