The Outdoor Chef has partnered with YETI Australia because we believe that they make the best coolers available in today's market.
In 2006, YETI realised that many coolers out there just weren't up to scratch - the handles and latches would snap off, and lids would cave in. That's why YETI built a cooler that could withstand the toughest of outdoor adventures. Today, YETI is the cooler of choice for outdoor enthusiasts, pros, tailgaters and outdoor kitchen and backyard BBQ connoisseurs.

The YETI Tundra was created to solve the age-old problem of subpar coolers failing in the wild. Tired of busted latches, lowed-in-lids and melted ice, YETI set out to make the ideal hunting and fishing cooler.
YETI Tundras are great for hunting, sport-fishing, camping, boating, rafting, lunch picnics with friends, tailgating, paddling, barbecuing and beer drinking.
The Tundra coolers are rotomolded, which is the same process used to create whitewater kayaks. The Tundra has also been designed to keep ice longer - a lot longer - by pumping it with over twice the insulation compared to most ordinary ice chests. The result is a cooler with excellent durability and ice retention over almost any other cooler on the market.
The YETI Tundra cooler comes with a five-year warranty.
Rotational moulding, also known as rotomould, is a high-temperature, low-pressure plastic forming process that uses heat and biaxial rotation to produce hollow, one-piece parts. Rotomold gives the YETI coolers an unmatched level of durability.
The YETI cooler mould is loaded with polyethylene in powder form. The mould is then placed in a large oven while it rotates on two axes at different speeds, which helps prevent powder from accumulating in one spot. The polyethylene melts and adheres evenly to the wall of the mould.
Once the polyethylene is melted, the moulds are pulled out of the oven to cool. Once cool, the ice chest is then removed from the mould.
The rotational moulding build process has inherent design strengths, such as consistent wall thickness and strong outside corners that are virtually stress-free.
There are so many variables that affect ice retention so it's difficult to provide an absolute answer. These variables include ice quality, ice quantity, type of ice (crushed, block, cube, dry), outside environment, exposure to direct sunlight, etc. In short, there are a lot of factors that affect the longevity of your ice.
Due to the large number of variables, as well as the lack of an industry standard for measuring ice retention, claims that place a definitive time (5 days, 10 days, 14 days, etc.) are often based on testing conditions and not real-life situations.
You might be surprised, but yes it will! The same insulation and thick walls that keep YETI coolers cold also retain heat.
For general cleaning, we recommend using soap and warm water.
For a more thorough clean, use a solution of warm water and bleach (6:1 ratio) with a sponge or a mildly abrasive rag. Odours can easily get trapped in hard to reach areas such as around the gasket and drain plug, so be sure to thoroughly scrub those areas.
For really tough stains and foul odours, we would recommend cleaning your YETI with a high-pressure soap spray that can be often found at local do-it-yourself car washes.
YETI specifically selects materials that perform well in the wild for the manufacturing of their products. They test their products extensively, with all parts passing standardised tests for water, moisture and salt-water environments. A special coating and higher grade stainless steel help ensure that your product won't rust or weaken on account of the elements.
YETI Tundra Haul wheels are great for and durable enough to take on rocky paths, gravel trails and splintered marine docks. While the wheels can certainly stand up to sand, you may experience difficulty rolling over or through this type of soft terrain.
YETI's Bearfoot™ NonSlip Feet has been designed to be non-marking with proper use.
The YETI Roadie 24 Hard Cooler is not leak-proof. If it ever ends up on its side or upside down, liquid will likely slip out. That said, YETI has taken extreme engineering measures to minimise leaks. If leak-proof performance is critical to you, we recommend checkout out the YETI Hopper soft cooler range.
The YETI Hopper cooler is the ice-for-days, tough-as-nails soft cooler. It's built to go the extra mile with its extremely portable carry design and construction. It's leakproof, puncture-resistant and ready to hit the trail or boat. The YETI Hopper is one soft cooler that's anything but soft.
The YETI Hopper cooler comes with a three-year warranty.
The YETI Hopper M30 Cooler is ultra leak-resistant. The Hopper M30 uses our patented magnetic technology for the opening. Leak prevention has been a key feature of our YETI Hopper soft cooler family since day one.
