Terms and Conditions
Shopping our Black Friday sale (7–8 November 2026)? Read the Black Friday sale terms and conditions.
These terms apply when you use our website or buy from The Outdoor Chef. They are written to work alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not to replace them.
Who we are
The Outdoor Chef (ABN 79 675 609 435) trades from two stores in Western Australia:
- Osborne Park: 1/392 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park WA 6017 – [email protected]
- Joondalup: 17 Injune Way, Joondalup WA 6027 – [email protected]
Phone (08) 9217 7473 for both stores.
Using our website
Our website is a catalogue. You can browse our range, check stock and send us an enquiry, but you can’t place an order or pay online. Purchases are made in store or over the phone with our team.
We take care to keep product details, specifications and images accurate. Images are a guide only, and colours and finishes can look different on screen. Manufacturers sometimes change specifications without notice. If something matters to you, ask us before you buy.
Prices
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Prices on our website may differ from prices in store, and we reserve the right to adjust prices before you buy. The price that applies is the one we confirm with you at the time of purchase.
Promotional prices apply only during the promotion and under its own terms.
Stock and availability
Stock levels shown on our website are updated regularly from our stores, but they are a guide only and can change quickly. Please call or enquire to confirm stock before you visit.
Some products can be ordered in if they are out of stock. We’ll give you an estimated timeframe, but suppliers’ lead times can change and we can’t guarantee a date.
Orders and payment
When you buy in store or by phone, your order is accepted once we confirm it and take payment (or the agreed deposit).
We accept most major credit cards.
Products we order in for you may need a deposit. We’ll confirm the amount when you order.
Products remain ours until they are paid for in full.
Outdoor kitchens
Outdoor kitchens are designed and built to order. Your quote sets out the design, components, price, payment schedule and the terms that apply to your kitchen.
Payments:
- 1st payment: a 30% deposit to start the job
- 2nd payment: the remainder, leaving a $1,000 balance, after the site measure
- 3rd and final payment: the $1,000 balance on the day of installation
Changes to the design after you approve your quote may change the price and the lead time. We’ll confirm any change with you before going ahead. Cancellations after quote approval may be subject to a restocking fee.
Installation:
We install the cabinetry and stone, and place your appliances in position. We don’t connect appliances. Gas, water and electrical connections, interlocks and rangehoods must be installed by qualified trades. Glass splashbacks are measured once the kitchen is in and installed a few weeks later.
Before installation day, please make sure any power points you need inside the cabinetry are in place, along with power for a rangehood, and a drain and water supply if you’re having a sink.
Gas regulations:
If your alfresco area is more than 50% enclosed, the law requires a rangehood, a flame failure compliant barbecue and an interlock. For a veranda or balcony, this applies if it is more than 80% enclosed.
Gas appliances
In Western Australia, gas appliances must be installed and connected by a licensed gas fitter. Please check the gas type (natural gas or LPG) before you buy. Converting an appliance to a different gas type must also be done by a licensed gas fitter, and may affect the manufacturer’s warranty.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for assembly, installation, use and care.
Returns and change of mind
Returns are handled in line with the Australian Consumer Law. Under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not required to give a refund or exchange if you simply change your mind, for example if you no longer want a product or chose the wrong model, size or colour. Please choose carefully, and ask our team if you’re unsure.
This doesn’t affect your rights if a product is faulty (see below).
Faulty products and warranties
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Most products also come with a manufacturer’s warranty. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Keep your proof of purchase, and register your product with the manufacturer where they ask you to.
If you think a product is faulty, contact the store you bought it from and we’ll help you with the next steps.
Sales and promotions
Each promotion has its own terms, which apply in addition to these. Unless a promotion says otherwise, promotional discounts can’t be combined with other offers and don’t apply to products already on sale.
Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our website or products. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Website content
The content on this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to The Outdoor Chef or our suppliers and may not be copied or reused without permission. Product names and brands belong to their owners.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you buy applies to your purchase.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
